Christmas Day

We decided to start a new tradition in our family this year. On Christmas Day we would have a birthday cake to celebrate Jesus' Birthday. So we got the cake all ready & decided that we would talk to Kaysen about it, to make sure he understood. He answered all the questions right & when we showed him the birthday cake he said, "Did Jesus already blow out the candles?"

Sledding

My parents & Grandma Robb came to spend Christmas with us this year. On Monday we were thinking of things to do & Grandma suggested a trip to the mountains. I have to say that we really weren't that excited. Kaysen was begging not to go & I was really dragging my feet. I could just imagine our car ride...kids fighting, us wanting to get out of the car, everyone being grumpy. But to make Grandma happy I went along with it, kicking & screaming the whole way. Kelly thought it would be fun to go sledding (yeah, right). So I insisted that we not take any snow clothes becasue nobody would want to go anyway. On the way out of town he stopped by the plant to get a tube & tied it to the top of our car. As we got on the highway a thumping sound started & then the tube got moved next to Tyler in the very back. Someone (I don't know who???me) suggested maybe we just leave to tube on the side of the road & someone else would be happy to find it. Kelly wouldn't do it & Tyler rode with it around his head all the way to Pomerelle. Then we went to the snomobile lodge, but it was crowded so we drove around the parking lot & found a nice little hill. I thought that would be ok, we would let the kids go down a couple of times & then we would be out of there, 10 minutes tops. But, a couple hours later, this is how it turned out!

All of us, Grandma Robb & all, went down the hill. Did you notice how well my mom stopped Grandma Robb?? She jumped out of the way & poor Grandma ran into the truck!

Kaysen enjoyed riding on Kelly's back. There were a few times I thought he was going to fly off, but he managed to hold on!

We ended up taking the long way home & drove through the City of Rocks & Oakley! The kids were so good too! Kaysen even thanked Kelly for taking us to the mountains!

Kaysen

This morning Kaysen is sitting on the floor playing with an electric fan when he yells, "Mom, I have an hypothesis!" Then he says something about the fan blades and the air going from the back coming out the front. I'm so amazed at the words he already know & at least has a simple basic meaning of them.

Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day I made big sugar cookies for my boys. They were so excited. It's so great to have them be so appreciative. Kelly took me out to dinner & bought me a bouquet of tulips! I'm so thankful for my wonderful boys & husband.
