Okay, so its only been 4 months since I started a blog and I'm finally writing something on it. Life has been a bit crazy, not to mention I couldn't figure out where my pictures were saved on my computer. Come to find out we have to download the pictures into our camera program, but we can't use them until we back them up somewhere else on our computer. Good thing our program didn't quit working or we would have lost 2 years worth of pictures.
So, Spring Break was FANTASTIC, WONDERFUL, AMAZING, all of the above. For those of you who don't know I have a very hard working husband. In the 4 1/2 years we've been married only once has he had a week off work (for our honeymoon). That was until this spring break when he got a much needed week long vacation. The best part was that there was no cell phone reception so he couldn't even take phone calls. We all felt very spoiled and in fact Kaysen still cries every time Daddy leaves now.
So we had the brilliant idea that we ccould drive all the way to Mexico and home with our 2 boys ages 8 and 2. We thought everything would be okay because we could make stops along the way. It took us 3 days to get down to Mexico and the boys were fantastic...thank goodness for a DVD player. We met up with my sister, Shellee, and her family in a town close to the border and followed them to Rocky Point, Mexico. We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo that was right on the beach. We had so much fun spending time with Shellee, Justin, Taylee, and Tyson. Tyler loves his cousin Taylee and keeps asking when he gets to see her again. We enjoyed swimming, going to the beach shopping, trying new foods, and playing the Wii (not quite a vacation thing, but we had to do something after the kids went to bed). Kelly and Justin were able to take a ride on a couple of Ultralights. Since then, Kaysen cannot stop talking about planes. We spent 5 fabulous days in Mexico and got to really enjoyed the time away as a family.
On Thursday we headed home and spent the next 3 days in the car, but oops, we left all our DVDs at the condo. By that time our children were sick of the car and it was nuts getting home. We made it home Saturday in time to spend Easter at home and then back to work and school. But, we had an excellent trip and hope to make it back again, but next time we'll fly (2400 miles was too much for us).
